15th Sep 2012 - Weekly Tips

Welcome to our first football betting tips for this 2012/13 Premier League season, we waited up until the International break to find out a bit more about the new teams and squads to see who slotted into which positions and how they all looked as they warm into the season and now we feel ready to get some bets placed!

The matches we're offering our predictions on this week are the following; Norwich v West Ham, Arsenal v Southampton, Aston Villa v Swansea, Fulham v West Brom and Manchester Utd v Wigan.

The interesting one amongst that lot is the Aston Villa v Swansea match, with Villa at home and after a bit of a break to regroup, they could produce a performance that goes against the initial form. Swansea (and Michu) must have rued the timing of the break as they were in full swing, we're not certain this match will follow suit from the previous 3 matches thanks to the form pendulum often on display in football, our expert is taking a punt on Villa for this one, while our betting system calls a Swansea win, this one could go either way.

Manchester United fans must have dreaded the news of Van Persie's withdrawal at half time during the mid-week Holland match but will be pleased to hear that Fergie has confirmed he's fit to play against Wigan, who won't be so delighted with that news and who could end picking the ball out of the net a number of times this weekend!

Although not part of our betting tips this week, we thought we'd share a couple of words about Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool team who many have already started to rip into thanks to a 1 point return in 3 games. From our point of view they looked very very good against Manchester City but undid themselves via two careless errors and were robbed of 2 of the points they should have had. Their football was also good in decent first half in the matches against West Brom (where they were winded by the quality strike from the ever-lasting Zoltan Gera) and also against Arsenal who played superbly in the end to take a deserved 3 points. Hopefully this will lead to the bookies offering longer odds for some Liverpool wins, something we recommend to take advantage of.

Finally a note about Arsenal, the three pronged midfield of Diaby, Cazorla and Arteta could well be the most fluent in the league and could help them to cement a place near the top of the table, Wenger will just hope they can remain injury free (and possibly wish they'd never replace Van Persie with Giroud!).
