1st Jun 2013 - Football Transfer Bets

The football transfer season is beginning to heat up as we get towards the end of June, all set for the transfer window opening in July and we felt the need to offer a light hearted warm up before the scramble starts and some real betting transfer tips follow, so here goes...

Liverpool look to be one of the busiest customers early on with deals in the pipeline for the Spanish duo Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto, the free scoring Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan (check the spelling) and Mignolet (we wonder if they'll they take one of the best football songs too "A Mignolet, a Mignolet, a Mignolet...., he's our goalie, our Belgian goalie, he's Simon Mignolet!') - a defender or two is likely to follow that with Carroll on his way and then anything else will surely depend on the future of Luis Suarez.

Further south, this is likely to be the transfer season where Arsene Wenger throws out the wonga (sorry Cisse, Tiote etc) for one of the summer's big signings with perhaps Higuain, Villa or even Rooney??! (Arsenal's current transfer record is remarkably still the £13m spent on Sylvan Wiltord). One piece of business has been concluded at The Emirates with the appointment of Chips Keswick (or Sir John Chippendale "Chips" Lindley Keswick to his friends/chums) to the role of Chairman - with a name like that he must be a man of the people.

On the subject of names and Arsenal, perhaps we can shoe-horn another mention to the man in charge of sorting their latest naming rights deal at the end of last year, the wonderfully named Boutros Boutros - Football Betting Tips wonder's if he's bought / arranged / sold another Boutros along the way since then.

We'll approach the new appointments at both Manchester clubs and at Chelsea and their potential targets (and won't make any obvious Schurle jokes..) in future weeks so you can look forward to those.

All of which means we'll end this set of ramblings with the near farcical situation that's occurring in the North East, a mini player exodus (that'll be Cisse, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Massadio Haidara, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Moussa Sissoko and Mehdi Abeid) thanks in large part to the Wonga sponsorship but we do wonder if it's more to do with the return of the footballing genius that is Joe Kinnear.. It's always hard to tell if Mike Ashley is permanently ripping the piss out of the Geordies or not, either way it all makes the Di Canio appointment seem like a bit of straight forward common sense.
